MotoAirbag vZero Black 808 description
It is very important to stay safe when riding a motorcycle. Whether you like it or not, you are very vulnerable on a motorcycle and that’s why it’s important to do all you can to prevent injuries and maximize safety. There are quite a few different ways to keep yourself safe, but if you want to take it to the next level – then you should take a look at the MotoAirbag vZero! This airbag is worn like a regular backpack, and it immediately inflates if you fall off your bike. The airbag inflates extremely fast, taking up only 80 milliseconds to fully fill the bag with air – and thus providing instant protection against heavy impact for your back.
How does the MotoAirbag work?
You wear that airbag on your back, it is encased in a handy backpack. There is a wire attached to the airbag which you need to fix to your bike. As soon as you fall off your bike, the wire is yanked from the air-cylinder – resulting in immediate inflation of the airbag, and thus protecting your back during the fall.
Because the MotoAirbag works with a mechanical system, all you have to do is attach the airbag’s wire to the bike to make sure that you’re all set. After the MotoAirbag has inflated it is quick and easy to drain the air, check for damage and install a new cartridge, getting you ready for the next safe ride.
Safety and certification
The MotoAirbag Mab vZero is the only airbag with an official ECE level 2 airbag certification: EN1621/4. This is partly thanks to the mechanical system, which eliminates the need of a battery or electronics (which could stall).
Next to this, the MotoAirbag kan absorb a lot more force that a regular back protector. A level 1 back protector is allowed to transmit a maximum force of 18kN, with a level protector the force permitted is 2,5kN. The MotoAirbag Mab vZero performs even better than this and transmits a maximum of 1,4kN, depending on the impact of the crash.
According to DEKRA test institute in Germany, in 98% of all crashes the impact is made within 150 milliseconds. This airbag has an inflation time of 80 milliseconds, which means that the airbag should always be inflated before the impact.
