1. Far too crowded
The motorcycle show is one of the most enjoyable events of the year, but it’s often too busy to properly compare the displayed offers at your own pace. Shopping in such crowds can feel rushed and stressful. Not ideal when you’re investing in motorcycle gear that should serve you well for years.
2. Old stock
“Old stock” may sound harsh, but many of the items at trade shows have been around for several seasons. Often they are leftover batches purchased because manufacturers struggled to sell them. 3. No space to try things on properly
This ties in with the first point. Because it’s so busy, you rarely get the time or space to carefully try on and evaluate a new outfit. That’s a problem, since your gear needs to match your riding style. There’s nothing worse than making a significant purchase and discovering after a few rides that it doesn’t feel as good as you expected.
4. Limited expert advice
If you want your new helmet, jacket or gloves to truly meet your expectations, expert advice matters. There are many different types of helmets and motorcycle clothing available. If you ride in all weather conditions but accidentally buy a lightweight summer jacket, that’s money poorly spent.
5. Not necessarily cheaper
Finally, and perhaps most importantly: the price. How can you be sure you’ve secured a real deal? Is 100 euros really a good price for that jacket? At the show, you often lack clear comparison options. That jacket might be of such modest quality that even 100 euros is too much. “Special” show prices are not always as spectacular as they seem.
