What is the biggest advantage of Gore-Tex motorcycle boots?
Gore-Tex motorcycle boots are 100% waterproof. The Gore-Tex membrane is an exceptionally thin stretched layer of PTFE and contains more than 1.4 billion pores per square centimeter. As a result, a raindrop cannot pass through the microscopic pores, but a water vapor molecule from sweating can. In other words, water from the outside is blocked, while perspiration is allowed out.
It's no coincidence that Gore-Tex is used in high-performance motorcycle boots. While a 'normal' waterproof motorcycle boot can feel quite uncomfortable in warm weather, the Gore-Tex membrane is highly breathable.
