With the latest Sena firmware update, it is now possible to pair your Sena headset with motorcycle Bluetooth systems from brands such as Cardo and Interphone.
The previous problem
A major issue many users of motorcycle Bluetooth communication systems face is limited compatibility between brands. In most cases, Bluetooth communication such as rider to rider or bike to bike only works properly when everyone uses the same brand.
But… that has now changed. Current users of the Sena SMH10 are the first to benefit from the new firmware, with other models such as the SMH10R and SMH5 set to follow soon. This new functionality is a strong reason to choose Sena when purchasing a Bluetooth communication system, as you no longer need to take the brand choice of your riding partners into account.
The solution
The Universal Intercom makes it possible to connect Sena headsets with devices from other brands, allowing Bluetooth intercom conversations with users of different manufacturers. A Sena headset can be paired with one non Sena headset at the same time. When pairing with another headset, the previous pairing is removed.
How it works
Below you can see an overview of how a Sena headset can be paired.
And below is an additional overview showing how the connection works.
