Full Face Helmets

A full face helmet is a closed helmet that covers the entire head, including the chin. Because the outer shell is made from one solid piece, it offers strong protection in case of a fall or collision. This type of helmet is popular among riders who value coverage and a solid construction. Many models include a built in sun visor, removable liner and ventilation, and are often prepared for Bluetooth communication systems.

Full face helmets range from entry level models to premium options costing several hundred or even thousands of euros. Differences come down to shell materials, finish, comfort and safety features. Higher end helmets are often wind tunnel tested.

Putting on and removing a full face helmet is slightly less easy than with a flip up or open face helmet. To assist emergency services after an accident, many full face helmets are equipped with an Emergency Quick Release System.

Sport full face helmets often feature aerodynamic vents and spoilers to keep your head stable at higher speeds. The placement of these elements depends on the riding position. Touring helmets focus more on reducing noise and therefore tend to have fewer protrusions.
