Why is a sun visor useful?

A sun visor gives you the opportunity to protect your eyes from the bright sun in just a few seconds. Especially in the touring segment, such a visor is indispensable.

Most motorcycle helmets nowadays come with an integrated sun visor as standard. However, there is a difference between sun visors. For example, a motorcycle helmet costing €600 has a sun visor that actually blocks UV rays, just like a good pair of sunglasses. A motorcycle helmet costing €100 has a sun visor that is dark-tinted (80%) and serves more of a dimming function than blocking UV rays.
