Advantages of leather motorcycle gloves
Leather motorcycle gloves provide a good grip for more control over the motorcycle and are often very durable. Leather is supple for freedom of movement and resistant to friction, which provides good protection in the event of a 'slide'. These gloves often have extra protection on the knuckles, fingers and metacarpals against impact.
Leather gloves are a bit stiff at first, but over time they will form to your hands for an optimal fit. Leather gloves are therefore very comfortable and breathe well. This type of glove is durable and can last for years.
Disadvantages of leather
However, there are also disadvantages to using leather. Leather gloves are usually only suitable for the summer and the in-between season, in the winter it is simply too cold for this type of glove. This is because the gloves are often perforated for ventilation, and sometimes even have open fingers.
Leather gloves are much more difficult to equip with a membrane, which is why this is also very rare. This means that a leather glove is usually not waterproof. A leather glove can withstand a rain shower, but if it really pours down, a leather glove will fill up with water. Waterproof gloves are better suited in that case.
