How does Macna Night Eye work?

The Night Eye fabric contains tiny glass particles that function like miniature satellite dishes. These particles reflect light from headlights or street lighting. As a result, the driver sees the glass particles light up, making the rider visible much sooner. Even at greater distances, the Night Eye fabric reflects light. Any light, no matter how weak, is reflected by the fabric.

Why Macna Night Eye?

Every rider knows the feeling of riding on dark roads while wondering if other road users can see you. Motorcyclists are less visible by nature. We have fewer lights than cars and we occupy much less space on the road.

Macna set out to find a solution without burdening riders with extra lights, reflectors or other add ons. That solution became Night Eye.

The Macna Night Eye variants

Macna Night Eye is available in different versions: Night Eye Classic, Night Eye Dark and Side Eye.

Night Eye Classic

With Night Eye Classic, the Night Eye fabric is applied as a pattern on fluorescent material, such as the Macna Vision 4ALL Vest. During the day, visibility comes from the bright yellow or orange colour. At night, the reflective effect takes over.

Night Eye Dark

Night Eye Dark is the newest version, where Night Eye is integrated into the entire fabric. During the day, the material appears grey, but at night it lights up completely. The Macna Vision 4ALL Vest Night Eye Dark is an example of this application. This way, you stay visible in the dark without standing out during the day.

Side Eye

Several Macna garments also feature Side Eye. This uses the same fabric, but focuses on illuminating the sides of the rider. This improves visibility from the side, for example when approaching an intersection.
