About Nolan

Nolan comes from Bergamo (Italy) and is part of the Nolan Group, which also includes the brands X-Lite and Grex. Nolan is a blend of the name of Lander Nocchi, who decided in 1972 to start producing motorcycle helmets that were lighter and more affordable than what was on the market.

The Lexan outer shells of Nolan helmets

Nolan found an American supplier for helmet production with an innovative plastic: Lexan, which was light and versatile. With this, he started producing polycarbonate motorcycle helmets. Today, almost all Nolan helmets are still made of Lexan, which remains a high-quality product.

Innovation at Nolan

Innovation is one of Nolan's important pillars, and continuous improvements are made to make the helmets even safer, more comfortable, and quieter. An example is the Dual Action opening system of the chin piece of the system helmets. You open this by squeezing two levers together with your index finger and thumb, instead of a single button to open your helmet. This prevents the chin piece from popping open. The N100.5 includes an additional hinge point in the chin piece, making it sit flatter on the helmet when opened, catching less wind and making it quieter.
