The Stella Tech-Air® 3 system utilizes an advanced crash detection algorithm developed and refined with millions of kilometers of riding data and thousands of crash tests. This enables the system to accurately assess when the airbag should be activated in the event of a collision or other dangerous situations, such as a lowside or highside crash. In the event of a crash, the system detects the onset of impact and inflates the airbag within just 50 milliseconds, ensuring the rider is optimally protected before the motorcycle actually makes contact.
The Stella Tech-Air® 3 has been tested according to the Dolomiticert Protocol and performs excellently within a speed range of 25 to 63 km/h. The water-resistant outer shell and the waterproof ECU and electronics make the system suitable for various weather conditions. Thanks to its slim, self-contained design, the vest can easily be worn under any motorcycle jacket, including the Alpinestars Tech-Air® Ready jacket, or under any leather or textile jacket, provided there is sufficient space for the airbag to inflate.
The vest is fully autonomous and does not require any external connections or sensors on the motorcycle. With six integrated sensors, including triaxial accelerometers and gyroscopes, the Stella Tech-Air® 3 provides excellent crash monitoring in a variety of dynamic riding conditions, even when stationary. The automatic activation via the magnetic zipper closure ensures seamless and reliable operation of the system.
The Stella Tech-Air® 3 system is not only functional but also practical in use. The packable design makes it easy to store the vest in a backpack or under the seat of your motorcycle when not in use. A diagonal zipper provides full front chest coverage and conceals the internal airbag, while the magnetic closure ensures a secure and easy seal. An LED display on the chest shows the operational status of the airbag and warns you when the battery is low.
With Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity, the Stella Tech-Air® 3 system can be paired with the Tech-Air® App, allowing riders to monitor the status of the system and the battery, as well as access a detailed map of their rides via MyRide. The system's software is easily upgradable through the app, ensuring you always have the latest features and improvements. The integrated, certified lithium-ion battery provides a usage time of 40 hours and can be recharged in approximately 4 hours.
