Arai RX-7V Evo Maverick Star
Product description
The Arai RX-7V EVO is a motorcycle helmet to savor. Perhaps the Arai RX-7 GP already made you drool; the improved version of this world-famous helmet will leave you drooling.
With the RX-7V EVO, Arai has introduced a true successor to the market, which has been improved on several points compared to the previous version, the Arai RX-7 GP. Below, we list the most important improvements:
- The pivot point of the visor has been moved 24 millimeters downwards. The pivot mechanism has become smaller and is outside the area that the Snell Research Foundation calls the most critical point of the helmet. This benefits the strength of the outer shell.
- The visor of the RX-7 GP was somewhat difficult to open and close due to the small grip. The RX-7V EVO has a larger grip, solving this problem.
- The plastic spoiler on top of the helmet allows for less hot air inside the helmet. It is 20 millimeters longer than its predecessor. This improves airflow and aerodynamics at high speeds. Thanks to the new diffuser (Type 12) and the air inlets (IC Duct5), which have become 19 percent larger, the RX-7V EVO has an improved airflow of 11 percent.
- The renewed outer shell may look the same as its predecessor, but appearances can be deceiving. It is 30 grams lighter due to a new type of resin used in the manufacturing of the outer shell. The relocation of the visor mechanism has created an additional 3 millimeters of space for the mouth and chin.
- The inner lining has also been addressed. By using different thicknesses of foam, the wearer can adjust the fit. The inner lining is easily adjustable, and the wearer can tailor the fit to their own liking. The material is made of Eco Pure, which is antibacterial and maintains a skin-neutral pH.
The features of the Arai RX-7V EVO may be even more impressive than the differences with the Arai RX-7 GP mentioned above.
The Arai RX-7V EVO meets the renewed, stricter ECE 22.06 standard. Arai has been known for years for its clear mission: to develop helmets that offer the best protection for the contents. An important feature of the helmets is the distribution of forces during an impact. Arai believes that forces should not disappear into the helmet. The shape of the very round and smooth outer shell, called the R75 shape, ensures the dissipation and distribution of these forces. These shells are tested far more extensively than required for the American SNELL M2010 or the European ECE 22.06 tests. For example, the helmets must withstand mandatory tests during a vertical drop where the forces enter the helmet at a single point. A perfect impact like this will not occur in everyday life. Arai also tests in other ways, such as an impact where the point of impact changes location during an accident. Here, the round R75 shell shines in its role. Arai uses years of data from real-life incidents, not just lab tests.
The super-hard PB SNC2 outer shell. From extremely good ventilation to unparalleled comfort: Arai has thought of everything. The shell is made from Super Fiber and other special synthetic fibers, resulting not only in enormous tensile strength but also flexibility. This material is used in various ways in the F1 sport.
The diffuser, in combination with the air wing, provides better stability. The diffuser and air inlets together ensure better air supply. The IC Duct5 air inlets are adjustable with 3 positions: closed, half-closed, and open. This also reduces wind noise and the entry of water. Moreover, this air inlet provides 11% more airflow compared to the previous Delta Duct5. It also features a larger slider, making it easy to open and close.
The VAS MAX Vision (MV) visor ensures better visibility in all seasons and for all types of motorcycling. This visor comes standard with a clear anti-fog Pinlock that can be installed when needed. The VAS MV visor has a variable pivot point, allowing it to be opened and closed without problems, even with the pivot point being 24 millimeters lower than its predecessor. The side panel of the visor and the visor itself can be easily removed if necessary.
The inner lining consists of the new and very comfortable Eco Pure material. The fit can be adjusted thanks to the adjustable parts of the inner lining at the sides of the head. The air outlets next to the eyes are adjusted to improve airflow.
The new flap under the chin piece improves the egg shape of the helmet, which follows the shape of the head. It prevents turbulent air from entering under the chin and facilitates the exit of breath via the mouth.
Space has been left behind the cheek pads in the inner lining for speakers for a communication set. If desired, an additional 5 millimeters can be removed from the cheek pads if more space is needed. There is more space available for the mouth, giving a more open feel. The inner lining offers increased comfort, making the helmet fit better, while also making it easier to put on and take off. Extra closures are added at the chin strap, allowing the helmet to be easily removed by medical staff in case of an accident.
As you can see, you can't do your head a greater service than with the Arai RX-7V EVO motorcycle helmet. If you go for safety and assurance: treat your head to an Arai motorcycle helmet. Motorcyclists discovered this a long time ago. And for good reason.
